What is the VC10 boiler control system?
The VC10 boiler control system is an add-on for the GUI610 or GUI615 and extends the CMS or BT300 (in preperation) with functions for controlling a steam boiler or a boiler with a liquid heat transfer medium. The VC10 handles only non-safety-related tasks. For this reason, boiler safety must be provided externally. For example, the CMS interlock safety chain can be used for this purpose.
In addition to the GUI610/615, the VC10 also consists of two I/O modules (digital inputs and outputs and analog inputs) to enable communication with peripherals (pumps, control valves, control system, exhaust damper, etc.).
In the steam boiler configuration, the VC10 includes the following functions
- Firing rate control
- Boiler level control with up to two feedwater pumps and automatic pump switching
- PID control of boiler level via TPS control valve
- Automatic blowdown with overfill protection
- Conductivity control via TPS control valve
- Integrated boiler start-up sequence with multiple configurations
- Alarm list with archive function
In the heat transfer fluid configuration (e.g. hot water boiler), the VC10 includes the following functions:
- Bypass control with pump or control valve
- Firing rate control
- Boiler output temperature control
- Boiler circuit pump
- Integrated boiler start-up sequence with multiple configurations
- Alarm list with archive function
GUI Option - VC10 Retrofit:
- I/O components for the VC10 boiler control system, consisting of 2 24 VDC extension modules with 4 analog inputs (0 (4)…20 mA) and 16 digital inputs/outputs
